Our toddler and preschool crew explored Happy Hall’s play space and made new friends during this cheerful morning meetup.

Thank you to all the families who joined us to capture springtime smiles. We loved seeing your beautiful photos!

    • May 26 – Help Build Our Posy Parade Float
With flowers, fluffing, and a whole lot of glue, SBPC families came together to decorate our float and it looked fantastic!

    • May 29 – Dad’s Night Out @ Fiddler’s Green
The dads gathered again for good food and conversation. Thanks to Shane for hosting another great night out!

    • May 31 – All Ages Playgroup & Magic Show

    June Highlights

    • June 1 – 83rd Annual San Bruno Posy Parade
With decorated scooters, strollers, wagons, and big smiles, SBPC showed up in full bloom for this San Bruno tradition. Thank you to all who helped, walked, waved, and celebrated!

    • June 13 – Parents Night Out: Bocce Ball
Thanks to the Spillanes for hosting this relaxed Italian-style evening. Bocce, wine, pizza, and friends, what more could you want?

    • June 14 – Book & Toy Exchange
Families gathered in the park to trade well-loved books and toys, sending treasures off to new homes. Community sharing at its finest!

    • June 28 – Walk/Run @ Coyote Point
We laced up and hit the Bay Trail for a family-friendly ~2 mile loop, followed by a laid-back hangout with snacks, coffee, and playtime. Thank you to the Barry family for hosting this fresh-air meetup!

    ☀️ What’s Next?
We’ve got more summer fun coming your way, from crafts and ice cream to pool parties and campouts. Check the events page and RSVP early!

April was bursting with family fun, new connections, and so many great memories with SBPC! Thank you to everyone who joined an event, hosted, volunteered, or just showed up with a smile.

Here’s a peek at everything we packed into one lively month:

Annual Easter Egg Hunt & Visit from the Easter Bunny
Families gathered at Grundy Park for crafts, potluck treats, and of course, the famous egg hunt! A big thank you to our Easter Bunny for making the day extra magical.

    Spring New Member Gathering
We loved meeting new faces (and welcoming back familiar ones!) with fresh coffee, donuts, and plenty of time for little ones to run and play. It’s amazing how fast friendships form at SBPC!

    April Book Club
Book lovers gathered for another great discussion this month! Thanks to everyone who participated - we love seeing members connect over a good read.

    Parents’ Night Out: Top Golf
Our Top Golf night was full of friendly competition and much-needed adult time. Thank you to everyone who made it such a fun evening!

    Cozy Movie Night
Families bundled up for a relaxed evening together because sometimes all you need is friends, snacks, and a little Bluey.

    All-Ages Fire Station Tour
Kids got an up-close look at real fire trucks and met the heroes of Station 51.

Book & Toy Exchange – Rescheduled!
Mother Nature had other plans for our Book & Toy Exchange. We're looking forward to rescheduling soon - stay tuned for a new date to refresh your bookshelves and toy chests!

    Looking Ahead
We’re already planning more spring and summer activities—park meetups, special workshops, and a little something for Mother’s Day. Keep an eye on your inbox and the events page for all the details!

As always, if you have ideas, want to help plan, or just want to get a little more involved, we’d love to hear from you.

Here’s to even more sunny days, playful meetups, and SBPC memories.

March was packed with creativity, connection, and community and we loved every minute of it! Here’s a quick look back at some of the events that brought SBPC families together:

Art & Music Morning (sponsored by BCD Art & Music Studio) gave families a chance to explore baby finger painting, toddler table art, and a joyful music movement class that had everyone singing and dancing.

Dad’s Night Out brought the pre-St. Paddy’s Day spirit to Fiddlers Green. Big thanks to Ross for hosting, and to all the dads who came out for good company and a first round on SBPC!

Book Club & In-Person Board Meeting – March’s Book Club delivered great conversation, and the Board gathered to keep the momentum going behind the scenes. Thank you to everyone who’s helping shape what’s ahead!

Spring New Member Gathering welcomed new faces and old friends to Grundy Park with hot coffee, donuts, and sunshine. We loved meeting all of you!

As always, a huge thank you to our volunteers and event hosts - you keep this community vibrant and strong. If you’ve got an idea, talent, or favorite local spot to share, we’d love to hear from you!

San Bruno Parents Club Quarterly Board Meeting Recap – March 2025

    Date: March 20, 2025
Attendees: Board members and several engaged non-board members

We had a lively and productive board meeting last week (+ wine and cookies)! Here are the highlights and takeaways we wanted to share with our amazing SBPC community:

    Budget Update

Julie shared that we're in a great spot financially, with some buffer for upcoming events. Here's a quick look:

    • We’re tracking well against our 2025 financial goals
    • Fundraising efforts are expected to pick up soon with several events on the horizon.
    • Posy Parade, Easter, and Halloween will need small purchases (like candy), but many supplies have been/will be donated.
    • The party committee is planning 6–8 events this year.

    Upcoming Fundraisers

    Chuck E. Cheese Night – May 1st
Join us for a fun evening with friends! The last one raised $200–$300. We’ll meet around 5 PM so the kids can play together.

Spring Family Photoshoot – Date TBD
    Two packages will be available
Feedback from the group: Let’s consider adding a holiday photoshoot later this year.

Other Fundraiser Ideas in the Mix:

    • Local Kitchen (brought in $150 each time)
    • Panda Express (nationwide)
    • Chipotle, Celia's, RT, Big Mouth, Mountain Mike’s
    • Lovely Bump, Nick the Greek, and more!

Have more ideas or want to host one? Let us know!

    Advertising & Sponsorships

Thanks to Ryan, our advertising efforts are thriving!
We currently have $3,800 in advertising revenue this year and growing.

    New and ongoing sponsors:

    • Bravo Insurance
    • Happy Hall
    • Music Together

We’re working toward more consistent guidelines around advertising exchanges - think free events + ad packages = bonus ad time. We're also exploring a Preferred Vendor List offering discounts to our members.

Have a vendor who might be a great fit? Reach out!

    Upcoming Events Snapshot

All events will be posted on Wild Apricot and the Facebook group. Please use the shared planning spreadsheet to avoid date conflicts!

    Tech & Membership Updates

    • Consider using Wild Apricot’s blog feature more often!
    • “Try It” events should be highlighted better - email Helen (informationsbpc@gmail.com) for interested families. Let’s make this more explicit on the website.
    • Postcards and QR codes redirecting to our Wild Apricot page would be great!

    Volunteers Wanted

We always need helping hands! Some ideas:

    • Use a volunteer Google doc to track who signs up.
    • Include asks in welcome emails or event sign-ups (e.g., bring donuts, coffee).
    • Direct asks work best - reach out to new or inactive members with small, doable roles.
    • Consider adding volunteer roles to Wild Apricot RSVPs.

Consistency is key, especially for playgroups - suggested new spots: Marina Vista Park (Millbrae), Buckeye Park (SB), or local pools.

    Partnerships & Community Building

We’re continuing to explore opportunities with local partners:

    • Exclusive club-only events are great, but timing is everything!
    • City boundary for events: San Mateo to South San Francisco.
    • We’re working on co-hosting a June playdate with the San Bruno Education Foundation, bringing together club families, incoming TK/K students, and school administrators.
    • Interest in future school-specific events - great volunteer opps!

    Other Notes

    • Newsletter: New board members, please send your photos to Drei!
    • Daycare Spreadsheet: Michelle may update - stay tuned!

Thanks to everyone who joined the meeting, planned events, and keeps our club running smoothly. Questions, ideas, or want to get involved? Email us or reach out on Facebook. We love hearing from you!

The first two months of the year have been filled with fantastic events for families of all ages! From book clubs that sparked thoughtful discussions to cozy movie nights that brought families together, our club has been busy creating opportunities to connect, learn, and have fun.

We’ve seen little ones explore music and movement in our Music Together classes, infants and caregivers bond at our playgroups, and parents take a well-deserved break at our Parent’s Night Out. Whether it was sharing a meal at a potluck or sweating it out at Barry’s Bootcamp, each event reminded us how valuable this community is.

None of this would be possible without the time and effort of our incredible volunteers. Your energy and ideas keep our club thriving, and we’re always looking for more ways to bring families together. If you have suggestions for future events or connections within the community that could help make them happen, we’d love to hear from you!

Here’s to more fun, learning, and support in the months ahead—stay tuned for what’s next!

Ways to Volunteer and Get Inspired

Not sure where to start? Here are some fun and flexible ways to volunteer, along with examples of what other members have done:

    • Host a Playdate: Organize a gathering at a local playground, your home, or a fun spot like a play place. (The club may help with fees!)
    • Plan a Parents' Night Out: Bring parents together for a relaxing evening out while the kids stay home.
    • Help with Club Resources: Take on a project like refreshing our local resources page or updating the preschool guide on our website.
    • Lead a Community Dinner: Plan a potluck-style meal where members can share food and good conversation. Some costs may be subsidized by the club.
    • Organize a Fire Station Tour: Coordinate a visit to a local fire station for a fun and educational outing.
    • Organize a Club Fundraiser: Help raise funds for the club with events like partnering with Local Kitchens or hosting a fun night at Chuck E. Cheese.
    • Host an Infant Walk: Relaxing strolls are a great way for families with little ones to connect.
    • Plan a Private Event: Previous favorites include exclusive playtime at Imagination City.
    • Create a Cozy Gathering: Movie nights at home or smaller, themed events are always a hit.
    • Celebrate Moms: Organize a fun and meaningful event like our past Moms’ Galentine’s Day celebration.

Upcoming Opportunity: Help Plan Our Easter Party!

Our first big party of the year is coming up, and we’d love your help to make it unforgettable! Whether it’s decorating, organizing activities, or setting up, this is a perfect chance to jump in and meet other members.

    Hi club members,

We’re excited to announce that SBPC has officially transitioned to our new website and event management platform: Wild Apricot! Here's what you need to know:

    • Tinyhood is no longer in use. All event postings, RSVPs, membership renewals, and registrations will now take place on Wild Apricot.

How to Activate Your Wild Apricot Account

    1. Look for an email from sanbrunoparentsclub@wildapricot.org (sent on Dec. 6) with the subject line: “San Bruno Parents Club - Create your account on our new platform!”.
    2. Click the link in that email to reset your password.
    3. Complete the setup process—and you're all set!

If you didn’t receive the email:

    • Check your spam/junk folder.
    • If it’s not there, email us at presidentsbpc@gmail.com, and we’ll resend it to you.

Important: Set up your Wild Apricot account by Dec. 22 to stay connected and avoid missing out on upcoming events!
